I am just back from my vacation in Colorado where I went on an overnight horseback pack trip with my family. I am now in Salt Lake City and back into the thick of the business with Ducati North America’s annual dealer meeting.
America is currently the best performing country for us and the energy and enthusiasm that emanates from this meeting is the best way to get back to work. This, coupled with the fantastic victory of Loris at Brno, and the impressive product that we presented for 2007 is a great start for the new season.
The growth of the US Sport market is impressive. California’s market is 43,000 bikes (total) and we will sell 2000 bikes, which is more than in many European markets. I met a lot of dealers, old and new Ducatisti, dealers that cater to the well known racing fans and dealers that try uncharted waters like the Hollywood stars and the cool visual Ducatisti.
I saw films about track days in Texas, long distance tours from Alberta to Laguna Seca and Ducati Fashion shows in Salt Lake City, all of which were put on by the local dealers.
Everywhere, commitment, passion and a genuine enthusiasm for the new 2007 bikes. I believe this is just the beginning in the US for Ducati.

Ci credo caro presidente che negli USA ci sia parecchio entusiasmo per i nuovi modelli.Circolano gia’ i prezzi delle nuove sbk e se sono attendibili anche da noi credo che la concorrenza verra’ completamente azzerata.Comunque potreste anche cominciare ad anticipare di piu’ visto che ormai,a poca distanza dai principali saloni,e’ inutile mantenere troppi riserbi.La cosa migliore che possiate fare e’ partecipare in massa con tutti i nuovi modelli,e qualche prototipo che avete,al salone di Tokio per far vedere a casa dei giapponesi chi e’ che fa le moto migliori.

Io ho saputo che tra l’altro l’anno prossimo uscirà solo la verione S della nuova “mille-mille98″ e cio’me le fa girare un po’….ho aspettato a cambiarla apposta e mo’ ti lasciano ancora in giro la vecchia 999 base. Inoltre pare che anche la nuova “749-849″ uscira’ un anno dopo. La tattica di spiumare per una stagione gli appassionati che si vedranno proporre solo il modello Superiore a 20000 euro nn la vedo un granché bene. Spero almeno che sia bella davvero a sto giro!
@3 Stai sicuro desmorider che usciranno tutti e tre insieme anche perche’ proprio la base sara’ di sicuro proposta per prima proprio per vendere.Sulla 749 nuova non ti so’ dire ma mi pare improbabile che venga aumentata la cilindrata anche li’,infatti e’ perfetta per la classe 600,semmai ci sara’ un motore piu’ potente e credo adottera’ lo stesso aspetto e ciclistica della 1098.Ducati punta molto sull’anno prossimo.Non ha caso probabilmente la prima hypermotard che uscira’ sara’ la versione base piu’ accessibile,proprio per avere maggiori vendite.Inoltre l’imminenza dell’uscita te la dice anche un altra cosa:confronta i prezzi reali della 999 base che riesci a trovare adesso con quelli dell’anno scorso….lo prendi a molto meno segno che sta per uscire,probabilmente dopo Milano.

Hello Federico, so glad to hear of the mechanic award in the USA. With bikes becoming ever more technically advanced we need to attract good mechanics and keep them well trained and try to ensure that they are paid as well as other technical positions. Thier pay seems to lag behind the auto industry in the USA. The 2007 models are very impressive! Tom or is that Tomasso?
