US Ambassador visit

This afternoon I had the pleasure of meeting with Mr. Ronald P. Spogli, the United States Ambassador in Italy, here at Ducati.

As a great Ducati fan and having heard all the factory and museum, he made a special trip to the Borgo Panigale factory to see things for himself. We all had lunch together in the Ducati cafeteria and then took a tour around the company to introduce him to some of the staff and show him how things work around the company.

Our relationship with the USA is very important - a large part of the Ducati Community is in the US and that’s not all! The AMA Ducati Factory Team, Ben Bostrom and Neil Hodgson, are set out for a great season, sales at Ducati North America have gone up in 2005 and there are official Desmo Owners Clubs all across the country.

In his tenure as Ambassador, Mr. Spogli has worked to promote the transatlantic relationship between our two countries and to focus on the commonalities, be they cultural, historical or based on economics and a democratic system of government.

I see his friendly visit as an example of our continuing good relationship with the US market and I think this bodes well for the growing motorcycle community.

If the Ducati relationship is so important to the US, why is it that Ducati North America, while handling my complaint and indicating it is credible, has seen fit to not act upon it, apparently merely because the regional representative was not given the courtesy of a meeting by the dealer in question? I have my fifth Ducati at present, and am sorely disappointed that while Customer Service researched my complaint thoroughly, not even a letter of apology has been rendered.

Well done, since for sure Mr. Ronald P. Spogli is a smart person he appreciated the Ducati factory and is a ducatista !
The US market is much important, mandatory to grow in the US to become a successful ambassador of the Made in Italy.

ciao mr. lusher -

while i can sympathize with your current situation, i am certain that the good folks at DNA will follow through on your issue … i say this from personal experience, as DNA has taken care of many warranty issues with my DOC owners club members throughout the years, all with positive results.

i suggest that you contact DNA customer service again directly, and continue dialog with them … i am certain you will find them willing to engage with you to resolve your issue.

I agree with Johnathan Lusher; all i can say is that Ducati in America doesn’t want to help itself unless it lines their pockets! I moved to the US from the UK, and brought with me a ‘96 Monster and a ‘04 SS800. I have asked, pleaded and begged Ducati to help me with the specification documents, and not one person has been bothered to help, the only email i recieved was a vague one asking me to register my bike on the official ducati club register. What’s the point in registering it if i can’t even ride it?! All i want to do i ride my beautiful monster around America and Ducati USA can’t be bothered to help a long standing Ducatista!

I apologize to Mr. Minoli for turning his post into a forum for complaints about Ducati customer service, but I, for one of many, are so frustrated with the neglect, uncaring attitude and lack of support, that I have found no other ways of being heard by significant management at the company.
