L’Hypermotard si sta avvicinando rapidamente al momento della produzione e del lancio.
Come abbiamo cercato di fare fino ad ora, vorremmo rendervi partecipi in diretta delle attività e delle decisioni che stiamo prendendo su questa moto.

Un primo passo è quello di portarvi con me dietro le quinte del reparto ricerca e sviluppo per toccare con mano dov’è oggi l’Hypermotard nel suo processo di sviluppo, che cosa stiamo ancora mettendo a punto e quali sono le impressioni dei collaudatori che girano con questa moto.

Poi come promesso parteciperemo assieme a tutte le attività che nelle prossime settimane saranno via via messe a punto su l’Hypermotard.

The Hypermotard is rapidly nearing the moment of its production and launch. As we have done up to now, we would like you to be involved directly in the activities and decisions we are making in relation to this motorcycle. I’d like to start by bringing you with me behind the scenes of the Research and Development department to see first hand where the Hypermotard is today, to see how things are being put into place and to hear the impressions of the test riders who have ridden the bike.

A big thanks to engineers Andrea Gesi, Lorenzo Valent, Marco Serra, Alessandro Valia, tester and rider, Massimo Maiorano, Riccardo d’Angeli and to all those in the Vehicle Testing department.

I prezzi degli altri paesi europei saranno simili a quelli dell’Italia. Quelli dei paesi più lontani (AUS, SA) verranno comunicati dagli importatori.

Giusto per anticipare le domande vi evidenzio che, come già discusso per il 1098, il prezzo Italia equivalente a quello MSRP USA è di 9.412 euro (11.495 - IVA 20% - messa in strada) che al cambio odierno di 1.3 $/euro corrisponde a 12.236 $, ragionevolmente vicino al prezzo USA ($ 11.495).

Tempo fa, vi avevo promesso un’anteprima sulle caratteristiche tecniche finali dell’Hypermotard.

Some time ago, I promised you a preview of the finalized technical specs of the Hypermotard.

In via eccezionale rispondo ad alcune domande ed anche ad alcune email francamente non pubblicabili che mi sono pervenute a riguardo del prezzo del 1098 più basso negli Stati Uniti che in Europa.

As an exception, I’m going to answer some questions and also some emails I received regarding the price of the 1098 in Europe and the US.

Many of you asked me to share our vision for Ducati, its strategy and plans.

Rather than asking someone in our Public Relation department to come up with a formulaic answer, I thought it might be more interesting to share with you the speech I gave at our world wide dealer conference in Milan.

I originally intended to for our community of dealers but it might also interest you who are equally part of our community. So here are some passages. With this I would like to wish you happy holidays and see you next year.

Molti di voi hanno chiesto di condividere le prossime strategie Ducati, i piani e le visioni per il futuro.

Ecco qua alcuni passaggi. Con questo voglio augurarvi buone vacanze e ci vediamo il prossimo anno.

Oggi abbiamo finalizzato le scelte per i colori 1098 per il 2007, seguendo anche le indicazioni che ci avete dato.

Today we have finally decided the 1098 colours for 2007, following also your indications on the blog.

E’ difficile di questi tempi avere una presenza costante sul blog.
Novembre e dicembre sono infatti densi di impegni aziendali che non possono essere rimandati. Abbiamo approvato le stime di chiusura per l’anno 2006; il bilancio e il budget per il 2007 e, tra l’entusiasmo di tutti, abbiamo iniziato a spedire il 1098 S in Europa (nella foto un momento della festa per le prime 1098 scese dalla linea di produzione).

It’s difficult right now to write on the blog so often.
November and December are so full of appointments that I cannot miss.
We approved the forecosted results for year 2006; the budget for 2007 and, among general enthusiasm, we started to send the 1098 S to dealers in Europe (here you have a photo of the small party we had for the first bikes that came out of the production line).

Mi sono da poco ripreso dall’ondata di entusiasmo per il 1098 che ha travolto tutto e tutti in Ducati durante EICMA.
Grazie di cuore ai 1696 Ducatisti e non che hanno postato sul 1098.
Alcune domande tuttavia hanno bisogno di risposta.

I have only just been able to catch my breath from the waves of enthusiasm for the 1098 that have swept us all away during EICMA. A heartfelt thanks to the 1696 Ducatisti (and non) that responded to the post on the 1098.
